Sharing Your Story

Did you realize that first impressions count?  Did you know that we only have a few seconds to make a lasting impression? That's true of us, and it's true of Juice Plus+ ... so what we say first to someone about Juice Plus+ really matters.

How often have you responded to the question: "What is Juice Plus+?" with something like: "Well, it's 17 fruits and vegetables in a capsule". Not very exciting, it'll hardly grab their attention and make them want to know more!

How often have we been equally unconvincing when answering the other common question: "What do you do?"  We usually say something like: "I represent a company that found a way to put 17 fruits and vegetables into a capsule ... it's called Juice Plus+ have you heard of it?"

For years we've done this. We've actually trained everyone to be pretty boring: "Watch the person's face, you'll see one of 3 reactions - the blank look, the skeptical frown or wide-eyed excitement."

While that is true about the reaction, we now realize (thanks to Rachel Harries, NMD, in Dallas, TX) that our response is boring and we're missing a great opportunity.

We should be responding by sharing our story! Answering their question will be part of the story.

Our primary goal, every day, is to share our story as often as possible.

But that's only true if we share our story in 30-45 seconds ... and then wait for the reaction (there are only 3 - see above).

We now realize that if we tell our story well, we'll have a lot more of the 'wide-eyed excitement' or at least the 'skeptical frown' reaction - both are equally good; just beware the 'blank look' (they probably have zero interest!)


So your story is the best answer to both questions - but it needs to be great. And it will be great if you've taken the trouble to write it down, refine it, shorten it and make sure it covers the head and the heart reasons why we love Juice Plus+. See 'Sharing Your Story' in the Owner's Manual; you will learn there the importance of both your Product Story and your Business Story.

We suggest you sit down with someone (eg. your sponsor) and tell them the long version of your story; use the HEART approach below. They take notes and then you both work on bringing out the most important points in the right order, with the right emphasis ... all in your own words, with tremendous enthusiasm.

Armed with your story(s), share them every day, at every opportunity, with everyone you meet, and you will be successful. Ask your friends and family if you can practice on them! Continue to refine your story as you go. Remember - keep it short and full of heart.

One last thought - it doesn't have to sound 'impressive'. We love what Jane Dias's young son tells his friends and their parents about what his Mom does: "She helps people get healthy with fruits and veggies!"


The Heart of Your Product Story

As we've been working with many of you to craft a powerful product story, we've often commented: "the story is good, but it lacks passion - or heart". Your story must be told from your heart, because effective stories communicate heart to heart, not head to head.

Rachel Harries, NMD uses an acronym that really helps you get to the HEART  of your story.

The acronym H.E.A.R.T stands for: Heard; Everyone; Always; Ready; Thankful.

It makes the opening of your story simple and easy to remember. For example:

"I first Heard about Juice Plus+ from ..... Everyone needs more fruits and vegetables ..... I've Always tried to eat well but ..... I decided I was Ready to get started on Juice Plus+ ..... I'm so Thankful I did because .....

The T for Thankful is the bridge to your testimonial - what you've seen since you (and/or your family) have been taking Juice Plus+. If you've seen no results, you can be "Thankful" that the research promises that good things are happening even when you don't feel anything.

You might want to add "Wow!" or "Oh my gosh!" to the beginning to give it that feeling of passion.

Then always finish with a question, eg "Would you be open for more information? or Would you be interested in listening to a CD or watching a video online?"

Our stories below will give you an idea of how HEART can really help you craft and deliver a powerful story with the right kind of impact on the listener.

Juice Plus+?! Wow!

When I first HEARD about Juice Plus+ in 1993, I thought "EVERYONE needs this!" I was a serious marathon runner and soccer player looking for nutritional help; I badly needed more fruits and vegetables in my diet, especially those greens. I had ALWAYS hated spinach and everything else green!

So I was READY to get started and I'm so THANKFUL I did:

... after 3-4 months I noticed improved energy, stamina, and recovery time. Then I had incredible results in 2 marathons that I ran 6 weeks apart, and my quick recovery after them - I knew it was Juice Plus+!

Over the years my problems with allergies, colds, chest infections and asthma have improved dramatically. Most of my life I was on antibiotics 3-4 times a year and I've needed them only 3-4 times in 15 years!

Even my taste buds have changed - now I love spinach and other greens, and I'm no longer addicted to chocolate, ice cream and steaks!

Juice Plus+?  Oh my gosh!

When I first HEARD about Juice Plus+ 15 years ago, I was so skeptical I refused to take it. I mean, how could they possibly get 17 fruits and vegetables into those little gelcaps? Ridiculous!

But a few months later I took a closer look at it and, when I realized that it really was simply fruits and vegetables, I decided that it did make sense and that EVERYONE needed it.

As a family, we had ALWAYS tried to eat well but it's not easy. So I was READY to get started and I'm so THANKFUL I did. I had a history of polyps on my colon and was told I was a high risk for colon cancer. Research suggests that a diet rich in raw fruits and vegetables, and high in fiber, reduces that risk significantly.

I haven't missed a single day of taking Juice Plus+ in 15 years. At 60, I take no medications, I have loads of energy, and I feel great!
